About us

The Family Science Association (FSA) is an independent organization of professionals (and students) who have joined together to strengthen and enhance the Family Science profession.

These goals are accomplished primarily through two avenues, the annual Teaching Family Science Conference and Family Science Review, an electronic journal focused on the teaching and scholarship of Family Science.

Welcome to the Family Science Association website!

We encourage you to participate in our organization that is focused on strengthening the field of Family Science. We accomplish this goal through the sharing and dissemination of presentations, publications and other tools related to the field.

We encourage you to join us at our annual conference, typically held in early June, at our board meeting at the National Council on Family Relations, typically held in November, and through submissions to our journal, Family Science Review. We have many opportunities for individuals to be involved in our organization, as reviewers, guest editors, conference chairs, board members. This is a great organization for new and “seasoned” scholars alike!

Recently, we have welcomed a new editor at Family Science Review. Please join me in welcoming Silvia Bartolic as our new editor! I would also like to take a moment to thank Rebecca Adams for her years of service to the journal and wish her well as she now can fully enjoy her retirement.

We would love to have you involved, so please don’t hesitate to contact me or any other board members if you would like to hear about opportunities to be involved.
